My name is Mark Carruthers and I started Master Finishing Supplies out of my basement in 2006, with 5 years of experience in the abrasives industry, a very pregnant and very understanding wife, and a desire to provide the best products and best possible service to the woodworking industry. My favourite part of my job has always been talking with my customers, to understand the projects they're working on, the challenges they're facing, and troubleshoot with them to suggest new products and processes that can improve their productivity and profitability.  Master Finishing Supplies has given me the freedom to do this.

In the decade since we opened, Master Finishing Supplies has grown along with my family, and we've seen a lot of changes.  My wife Sarah has taken over much of the office and administration work.  We've moved our warehouse from its humble basement beginnings, first to a shared space in Mississauga, and now to a larger space in Toronto which allows us to hold more stock, along with showroom and spray booth facilities.  The development of our niche started as we set up our first colour lab to match stain and lacquer.  Shortly after, our first full-time employee David joined us and he continues to work with us today.

Throughout it all, I've never stopped learning about the new products available to the industry.  I am passionate about the future of woodworking in Canada and want to help our customers succeed and grow.  2016 marked 10 years in business and we purchased Forkam Supplies which entered us into the tooling and sharpening business.  This allowed us to put our products into new areas and two more employees joined us in order to manage this new product segment. 2017 marks an exciting time for our market and our company.  Thanks for being part of it.
